MORE THAN AN OLD MILL, A CROSSROADS FOR THE ARTS!

With the presence of a small giant, our old mill, now LARGO 10, is a setting where distances disappear: you experience art up close, artists are never far away, and encounters continue around the bar.

Much more than an artist’s studio or exhibition space, it is a place unlike any other, where painting, sculpture, photography, concerts, theatre, cinema and live performance meet, respond to one another and sometimes collide. And you’re going to love it!

An exhibition may become the starting point for a concert, a reading or a performance — or simply an unexpected conversation between an artist and those discovering their work. We’ve given these movements a name: LARGO INCANTO.

Under our star-shaped stone vaults, we don’t just want to show art. We want to create opportunities to live it… and see you leave a little enchanted!

A CINEMA THAT ISN’T A CINEMA

If you love cinema as it used to be — warm, a little poetic — then our LARGO 10 should be just your kind of place!

Imagine: no numbered seats. You pick a chair, choose your spot in front of the big screen, and the lights go down…

And when THE END appears on the screen, the evening isn’t necessarily over. Passionate film lovers may tell us more about the film, share a few anecdotes and, above all, make us want to keep the conversation going.

Because cinema is also what happens around the screen: people who love films, stories that move us, and time to have a coffee, settle into a sofa, share memories, talk about what we felt and laugh together.

Under our stone vaults, we want to experience cinema differently: revisit great classics, rediscover forgotten films, discover documentaries… films chosen to give us an irresistible desire to be together and talk about them. And that’s what we call LARGO PARADISO!

HERE, IDEAS TAKE SHAPE BY HAND!

At LARGO 10, our workshops are part of the place, its story and what you come here to discover.

Step inside and you can watch artists at work, discover their gestures, tools and materials… and, above all, ask questions. A finished work tells a story, but watching it come to life often tells you much more.

Under the great stone vaults of our old mill, Alfredo sculpts stone and transforms metal; Libelle gives new life to vintage glass globes, turning them into lamps. And when they bring their skills together, new works of art are born. We hope other artists will one day bring their tools to LARGO 10 too.

Here, creation isn’t only exhibited — it takes shape before your eyes.

A small gathering for a few enthusiasts, a pop-up museum for a weekend, a happening under the vaults, a slightly crazy auction, a staged tasting, a photo shoot, a special family event… or that project you’ve been dreaming about for years but never quite made happen!

LARGO 10 loves ideas that don’t quite fit into boxes. Its stone vaults, flexible spaces, stage, big screen, lounge area with its bar and Apetta are all there to bring your imagination to life and turn it into an experience that feels entirely your own.

You bring the spark, we bring the LARGO… and together, over a coffee, we invent the rest!

THE ASSOCIATION

ONE PLACE, MANY PASSIONS — AND A DESIRE TO SHARE THEM

Behind LARGO 10 is a Franco-Italian association born from a very simple idea: to bring this place to life by opening its doors to the arts, artists, ideas… and above all, to people!

We believe art may not change the world, but it can change the way we look at it, feel it and sometimes even live it. That belief is at the heart of LARGO 10 and of everyone who brings it to life.

Our association is open to anyone who would like to be part of the adventure and bring a talent, a passion, a project, a little of their time… or simply the desire to make something happen with us.

Because at LARGO 10, good ideas get even better when they’re shared.

THE TEAM

FOUR PATHS THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE CROSSED… AND YET THEY DID !

Take a sculptor and lifelong guitarist who once worked as a robotics engineer around the world. Add a lighting designer trained at École Boulle, a pianist and former head of applied-arts schools in Paris. Bring in a media and events man, jazz drummer, playwright and incurable traveller. And whatever you do, don’t forget our multilingual Salento guardian angel, a jack-of-all-trades capable of finding a solution to just about anything.

Mix together their journeys, cultures and skills, add a pinch of madness, and you have the founding team of LARGO 10… united by one desire: to make it a place of wonder, with room for the unexpected !

THE PRINCIPALITY

A PRINCIPALITY BEYOND BORDERS

Why a Principality ? Because art thrives on encounters and creative connections without borders!

So we imagined the ARTISTIC PRINCIPALITY OF MESSAPIA, a creative and playful micronation dedicated to art, culture and exchange — a doorway to the world. It is, quite officially, the Principality that brings LARGO 10 to life… although it much prefers imagination to protocol.

Its first territory is here in Poggiardo, in the heart of Salento. But even an artistic Principality can have relations elsewhere! Twinning, artistic embassies, shared projects… all ways of building friendships across Italy and beyond, discovering other cultures and taking a little piece of Poggiardo beyond Salento.

Its territory begins at LARGO 10. Its borders are still waiting to be invented.
